I think there are two reasons why media writes like that about soccer:

1. They can't stand soccer compete against NFL, NBA and baseball. It's a "european" or "south american" sport. ;)

2. They provoke many responses by posting critical news and thus get more exposure even if it is negative. ;(

Yes, even Beckham cannot do all the things alone. Soccer is a team game and one individual cannot perform miracles.

Maybe if gets a free kick here and there, then he can do it by himself, otherwise he needs at least one or two highly skilled players to take advantage of the opportunities he creates.

Good result for LA, maybe they already got some Beckham confidence boost without him even playing. ;)

Found this story on Yahoo about Beckham's injury:

He is keeping his options open, and your point(s) are well taken. However, if he didn't truly enjoy playing in KC, I have a feeling he would have decided to leave.

I'm not saying hold a Beckham-like announcement of it. They could at least leak this to Bob Luder of the KC Star. It is free and positive publicity, at least for the rest of this season.

I'm sure it couldn't hurt to tell the Wizard's faithful that the essential cog in their attack will be around the rest of the season. They want to sell more tickets for this season, after all.

Was just about to post the exact same thing as Nick.

The MLS would look daft shouting out about EJ staying for him to actually just be waiting for more cash elsewhere. Hardly news.
