Old news by now but I never tire of cretins calling Uruguay or Argentina or Italy "dirty". Believe it or not my friend; there are places in the world where every child that plays football doesn't have a playstation 3 and a 50" plasma TV. This game is of the people and the majority of humanity do not have the same advantages that the United States have. With all of the advantages that the U.S. has it's a global embarrassment that they aren't consistently one of the best teams in the world. The kids from other countries grow up hard and play the game hard. Check your stats on how many American men play on top tier European teams v. how many Uruguayans do....now check the populations of both of those countries. Get a clue moron...Uruguay is a tiny little football factory that boasts heart and determination. What is the States? Wonderbread children of entitlement that will never mean anything on the world stage due to their lack of passion and style. Not that there could not be an astonishing array of great players from such a diverse and massive country...just that the the redneck mentality keeps them all down. Run away kids...run away!! Your ship is sinking anyway.

I think there are two reasons why media writes like that about soccer:

1. They can't stand soccer compete against NFL, NBA and baseball. It's a "european" or "south american" sport. ;)

2. They provoke many responses by posting critical news and thus get more exposure even if it is negative. ;(

Yes, even Beckham cannot do all the things alone. Soccer is a team game and one individual cannot perform miracles.

Maybe if gets a free kick here and there, then he can do it by himself, otherwise he needs at least one or two highly skilled players to take advantage of the opportunities he creates.
